For an event photography client, we built a free CRM workaround using a Google Sheets trigger. Each lead’s client ID was sent to the sheet, and when a service was sold, we imported the ID into Google Ads. This allowed us to automatically track not just calls, but actual sales, and assign revenue to the specific keywords that generated them — without using a full CRM system.
Problem:
The previous agency was running Display Ads and Performance Max campaigns targeting broad terms like “photography.”
They were not focusing on high-intent keywords such as “event photography.”
A small budget was spread across too many keywords, diluting campaign focus.
Not all conversions were being tracked, including actual sales.
Offline conversions were not tracked, so the client had no visibility into real revenue.
